In this video, I show how storm drains (and equally, house connections) work in Urbano 12 — from drawing elements to editing, renaming, and reporting.
Storm drains can be drawn interactively, converted from AutoCAD elements, or placed automatically along the main pipeline. You can assign terrain elevations from a DTM, set the invert depth and pipe slope, and choose pipes and manholes from the catalog.
Longitudinal profiles can be generated for storm drains just like for any other part of the network.
One of the biggest improvements in Version 12 is the upgraded editing dialog. It now shows the actual properties of the selected elements, displays varying data as (varies), and updates only the data you change — making batch editing much faster and safer.
Automated renaming has also been improved. You can define name prefixes for the storm drain and the connection node, and Urbano will automatically rename all related nodes, sections, branches, and arrays according to the naming rules.
Finally, all storm drain data can be reviewed in a data table and copied directly into Excel as a quick report.
