In Urbano 12, import and export functions for Esri Shapefile, SQL databases, and TXT files have been redesigned and significantly improved.
One of the key improvements is the ability to import a complete pipe network from a single file, where all project data is stored in a single table, including names, coordinates, levels, manhole dimensions, and pipe diameters.
While Urbano supports direct import from Excel, the data can be copied into a TXT file for a simpler and faster setup. Column headers must be adjusted to ensure unique field names. The import can then be configured quickly by dragging and dropping the TXT file into the dialog and mapping its data to Urbano data.
Before importing, the network can be previewed in plan using temporary graphics. Once imported, pipe and manhole data (such as dimensions and diameters) can be mapped to Urbano catalogs, enabling automatic assignment of pipes and manholes. These mapping rules can be saved and reused on future projects.
The network can then be developed further and used in detailed design, with profiles for the entire network generated at once, nodes and sections labeled in plan, and the model reviewed in 3D.
The network can also be exported back to Excel or TXT (single file or separate for nodes and sections), as well as to Esri Shapefile, SQL databases, LandXML, IFC, or Navisworks (NWC).
