Profiles are a very important component of pipe design. In Urbano, you can create profiles from predefined configurations. Drawing of profiles is fast and easy. Any changes are automatically updated in profiles.
Urbano includes a comprehensive set of tools and configurations used for storm and sanitary sewage profile design.
Urbano creates a pipe network topology, consisting of nodes, sections, branches and arrays. The network data will update dynamically during network drawing and editing. You always use the topology system to draw profiles between any starting and ending network node i.e. structure. By using arrays or branches, you can draw many profiles at once.
Profile drawing is also very fast and it does not require a separate alignment element. You can draw a profile even without determining data like pipe diameters and structure types. All missing data will be updated as soon as you determine them, and all profiles will be updated automatically.
2. Profile configurations
Urbano enables you to create many profile configurations, each with many parameters that can be set and adjusted to influence the profiles appearance.
The Urbano profile creatiol tool is efficiently used in many countries. The many different country specific requirements are stored in country kits - each with a set of standard profile configurations. You can also edit any existing profile configuration or create a new one from scratch.
3. Structure editing in profile
Often, pipe network design starts with drawing pipes in the layout. But, that makes it hard to understand terrain changes and because of that, you would have to check the initial pipe positions in the profile.
In Urbano, network editing can be performed both in plan and profile views. Thanks to the dynamic model, a change in plan will effect a change in the profile and vice versa. To edit structures in the profile, you can use tools to move, add and delete them. All tools include additional options to control important data like pipe slope and depth.
4. Straightening pipe in profile
The initial pipe position can be set with several methods, e.g. as parallel to terrain or as a result of a calculation. Very frequently the pipe run must be modified and Urbano offers many tools to modify pipe positions in the profile. One of the tools enables you to straighten several pipe parts by slope or line. You can equalize slopes for selected pipes between the start and end point, or set a new slope. All changes will be updated in the plan view.
5. Drop shafts in profile
The initial pipe position can be set with several methods, e.g. as
parallel to terrain or as a result of a calculation. Very frequently the
pipe run must be modified and Urbano offers many tools to modify pipe
positions in the profile.
Sometimes, due to terrain elevation
changes you need to make changes i.e. add nodes directly in the profile
or create drop shafts. With the Urbano functions it is very easy to
change the pipe run to best fit a specific situation. All changes will
be updated in the plan view.
6. Several channels in one profile
It is usual design practice to set several pipes side by side. It can be convenient to show several channels in one profile, in order to inspect their positions and possible interferences. Urbano enables you to show any number of additional pipe runs in the profile. You can create table bands with the appropriate data for every channel shown.
