In Urbano 12, all import and export functions have been redesigned and significantly improved, including support for Esri Shapefile, TXT files, and SQL databases.
Importing is now faster and more intuitive. Multiple node and section Shapefiles can be imported at once using drag and drop, with automatic geometry recognition and file assignment within the dialog.
Two import approaches are available. Standard Import enables mapping SHP data to Urbano data, making it suitable for continued design and hydraulic modeling. Quick Import brings in geometry and stores all attributes as user data, which is especially useful when importing GIS networks used only as a reference.
Node types and hydraulic equipment (EPANET and EPA SWMM) can be defined automatically during import. Polyline geometry is now also supported, alongside lines and arcs.
Before importing into the CAD drawing, the network can be previewed using temporary graphics.
Export workflows have been streamlined as well. Default export settings are predefined, including file location and key attributes, making it possible to export the model with minimal setup. Multiple SHP files can be generated based on node type or hydraulic equipment, enabling a complete roundtrip workflow back to GIS or the original design software.
