Urbano Polygon is a module of software family Urbano which works with polygon topologies i.e. parcels, zones or areas.
Urbano Polygon is an add-on to AutoCAD MAP, Autodesk GIS platform. Urbano Polygon is modern, attractive, flexible and stable application which can be added to any program or module of Urbano software family. Urbano Polygon brings innovative and easy-to-use user interface in the form of tree view. In tree view it is possible to define specific configurations and to activate them in any moment. In that way it is possible to have several definitions of thematic maps, queries or annotations which can be started when necessary. Urbano Polygon works according to OpenGIS consortium (OGC) recommendations. It is completely developed in C++/Object ARX language, thus favored with functionality and speed. Urbano Polygon supports WKT/WKB formats and enables bidirectional communication with SHP files.
Main software characteristics
 

Polygon topology – program creates polygon topology automatically with clean-up procedures from linear elements. Topology is based on closed polylines.

  

Data grabbing – in the case of some textual information in the plan (owner, type of parcel, ...) it is possible to create reading data rules from plain texts or block with attributes


Link to external databases – it is possible to link elements of polygon topology to any Windows database which contains some specific data. Data coming from external database can be used in any program function, such as annotation, thematic mapping, queries, ...


Topology editing – there are a lot of editing polygons functions such as erasing, adding, splitting, joining, inserting of islands,... It is possible to make some changes with plain AutoCAD functions.

Tables – it is possible to create an arbitrary number of table configurations for data review with any kind of data. Table reviews can be sorted, synchronized with the drawing (zoom to, select from) or any data selection can be transferred to any Windows application (Excel) by using simple ‘copy and paste’ procedure.


Annotations – it is possible to create any kind of label (number of parcel, area, data from database, ...). Labelling is very fast. If label is moved to the new position, when labelling is started again, new position is preserved.


Querying – there are comprehensive procedures for searching according to attribute and/or spatial conditions


Thematic mapping – it is very easy to have thematic maps according to any data. Thematic mapping can be made according to discrete values or according to continuous data intervals

Styles – to emphasize some specific elements in polygon topology it is possible to define and use any number of styles which are based on AutoCAD hatches. Styling can be made in table reviews or querying.

Polygon analysis –there are procedures for buffer and overlay analysis in the program. Influence of two polygon topologies can be analyzed with procedures, such as placement of new road over existing parcels.
