Urbano includes detailed excavation calculation and reporting functions. You can define simple single-pipe and complex multi-pipe trenches using section and trench design tools. The whole trench arrangement is stored in the catalog, making it very easy to edit and use in subsequent projects.

 



1.    Excavation volume – simple trench

You can use any trapezoidal shape for a simple trench. The trench definition is stored in the catalog, which makes it very easy to edit or add a completely new one. In just a few steps you can attach the appropriate trench definition to pipes, check values and calculate all layer volumes. You can create a detailed calculation report in a MS Excel file.


2. Multiple pipes trench – section drawing


With Urbano you can calculate layer volumes for a multi-pipe trench. You can set trench and layer data by using cross sections.

You can create any number of cross sections along the pipe channel. Draw cross sections with several methods, e.g. on constant distance or in specific alignment points. The definition of a cross section is stored in a configuration, so you can use it in other projects as well. Equal to plan and profile, cross sections are completely dynamic. This means that any change in plan or profile is automatically updated in cross sections, and the other way around.


 3. Multiple pipes trench – automatic set up

With Urbano you can calculate layer volumes for a multi-pipe trench. You can set trench and layer data by using cross sections.

You can determine the outer shape of a multi-pipe trench by using the powerful automatic trench set up funcion, based on the correlation of several pipes. The outer shape of the trench reamins completely dynamic so that any change in pipe position, vertical or horizontal, automatically updates the whole trench composition.


 4. Multiple pipes trench – setting trench layers

With Urbano you can calculate layer volumes for a multi-pipe trench. You can set trench and layer data by using cross sections.

You can determine the inner trench layers by setting smart auxiliary lines. You can set vertical, horizontal and oblique lines. Auxiliary lines are connected to a selected pipe, set on a specified distance from a characteristic pipe point. You determine auxiliary lines for one cross section, but they will be drawn in several or all sections, based on predetermined section range. Auxiliary lines are dynamic, so any change in the pipe direction, horizontal or vertical, is automatically updated.


5. Multiple pipes trench – volume calculation

With Urbano you can calculate layer volumes for a multi-pipe trench. You can set trench and layer data by using cross sections.

Based on trench outer shape and auxiliary lines, you can define specific layers like bed, fill, upper layers. The trench layer definition is using the AutoCAD boundary algorithm. It is very efficient because you can determine the layer in only one section, and the program will set the same layer in several or all sections at once. You can check all layer areas easily. You can create a full excavation report with all volumes in an MS Excel file.
