In September, 2017, first official version of Urbano 9.1 has been released, with label 22.214.171.124.
Urbano 9.1 is a major release of Urbano software, and it contains various significant improvements and new features:
BIM (Building Information
Modeling) New options
for 3D system view and the drawing of trench borders have been added. A new
function has been created to export the entire Urbano system to Navisworks NWC
format (including the DTM, trenches and filling layers). When creating the NWC
file, it is possible to create Navisworks selection sets automatically. The IFC
export was significantly improved as well.
Urbano Hydra Calculations
have been significantly improved by accelerating existing and adding new functions.
Now it is possible to create and analyze demands and water consumption
scenarios. By using scenarios, it is possible to quickly find relevant
consumption states. A new type of preview was developed which makes it possible
to analyze the values of sections and nodes simultaneously. The definition of
system equipment (e.g. the position and direction of pumps and valves), as well
as their data, have been improved.
Urbano Polygon This whole
module was completely redesigned. Existing functions have been improved and
accelerated and some new functions were added. The initial creation of polygon
topology has been significantly improved (e.g. automatic polygonization, conversion
of closed polygons, automatic island recognition and error detection). Dividing
polygons by arbitrary criteria was significantly accelerated. New functionality
was added to the overlay analysis. Dynamic previews with new selection and
sorting options enable quick and efficient control of polygon topology.
Urbano Canalis In the pipe
catalog, it is possible to create rectangular pipes with flat bottom, defined
by two parameters: inner width and inner height, B x H. For the assigned
rectangular pipes, it is possible to perform hydraulic calculation. A new
function for hydraulic calculation of pressurized flow was incorporated.
for plotting longitudinal sections have been expanded with new options - it is
possible to draw each frame to a separate layout and set the maximum paper
width, after which the program creates a new layout. There is also a new function
for drawing longitudinal sections with more reference heights in the model.
Labels Labels were
divided into several groups - sections, nodes, stations, channels and other. It
is possible to create them according to templates. In addition, new features
have been added for labeling invert heights, while the functions for drawing
and editing labels have been expanded with new options.
Defining and editing pipe
pipe invert in longitudinal sections is one of the most important
functionalities in the design of pipe systems. That is why a whole new set of
commands has been developed and this functionality significantly expanded. New
features offer a wealth of options and parameters with which setting and
editing the pipe invert is much faster and more efficient.
Urbano Ribbon Ribbon
interface is complemented by new functions and allows the users to create their
own panels and commands groups.
data The ability
to define and assign user data is extremely important in the application of BIM
technology. A completely new concept for managing user data has been applied.
It is possible to define and set user data for all types of systems (sewage,
water supply, polygon topology...), topology elements (sections, nodes,
polygons...) and types of equipment (pumps, valves...). Working with user data
is more intuitive and efficient.
House connections New
features for the automatic connection of main channels with house connections have
been added. House connections have become dynamic, which means that they are
automatically updated by changing the main channel invert. In addition, house
connections can be drawn with multiple segments.
sections and multi-pipe trenches The
function for defining and analyzing complex trenches with multiple pipes is
enhanced by adding new options. The option of automatic dimensioning has been
added, the definition of upper layers is enhanced and the key cross-sectional
points are easier to define when drawing auxiliary lines, dimensioning and labeling.

Urbano Hydra connects AutoCAD drawing (detailed water distribution network design) with EPANET hydraulic calculation. In Urbano Hydra, it is possible to create various water demand scenarios and choose which scenario will be relevant for the calculation. Unlike EPANET, in Urbano Hydra you can have various parallel water demand scenarios (alternatives) and those scenarios can be simultaneously previewed and compared – e.g. summer and winter period scenario, scenario with and without firefighting demand, etc.
Scenarios can provide more efficient and systematic analysis of design and operating alternatives. They can be used to examine the impacts of different demand conditions, search for optimal parameters, and evaluate changes in operating policies.
